Program: Master Cycle (Blue-to-Purple Belt)

Beyond Gracie Combatives belt, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu consists of hundreds of advanced techniques, all of which have been organized into a clearly defined, systematic curriculum called the Master Cycle®. The Master Cycle is broken down into three levels, one for each belt after blue (purple, brown and black), and promotion to each new belt level requires successful completion of four stripe courses each of which features 60 lessons which are broken down into seven positional chapters. The Master Cycle lessons use the same “Technique Slicing” strategy found in the Gracie Combatives course, but, due to the complexity of the techniques, we use a revolutionary training exercise called Rapid Mastery Drills along with a variety of Focus Sparring exercises to internalize the techniques and develop reflexes at the end of each class. Upon perfecting all the techniques in a given stripe course, you will test for a stripe promotion via the video evaluation process. Once you earn all four stripes on your blue belt, you will qualify to test for purple belt at Gracie University HQ or one of many Certified Training Centers around the world.
