Salvador Minuchin on Family Therapy
by Jay Lappin & Salvador Minuchin

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to get up close and personal with one of the most influential figures in psychotherapy, Dr. Salvador Minuchin.

The founder of Structural Family Therapy, Minuchin has been inspiring therapists for over half a century with his wisdom and insight into what actually helps people change. You’ve read about him in your textbooks—now here’s a chance to get to know the person behind the legend.

In this compelling interview, Minuchin sits down with one of his beloved mentees and talks freely about his evolution as a therapist over the past fifty years. He reveals how his revolutionary spirit and passion for social justice led him to challenge the status quo of psychodynamic therapy and create a more effective model for working with youth and their families. He discusses some of the nuts and bolts of Structural Family Therapy and offers suggestions for how to bring out the best in struggling families.

This heartwarming dialogue is sure to inspire both new and seasoned therapists to look for the untapped potential that exists in each person, no matter how troubled they may be when they arrive in our offices.
