Designed to be a beginner’s guide to Sanskrit, this course will cover the historical highlights of the language, the nuts and bolts of the written language in its Roman transliteration, a pronunciation guide of the vowels and consonants, and a closer look at 20 of the most common words from the yoga lexicon, and 32 asana.

You’ll Learn

  • A brief history of Sanskrit and how it helped shape yoga
  • Transliteration and diacritical marks and how to pronounce the vowels and consonants
  • The correct translation, pronunciation and meaning of key Sanskrit words
  • The history behind common pose names and how to correctly pronounce them
